Recipe costing

Cost every recipe from real pack prices

  • Cost any recipe to the penny from pack price and pack size (per gram, ml or unit)
  • Change a supplier price once; every recipe using that ingredient recalculates
  • Batch cost and cost per portion update live as you build
  • Recipes scale to the quantity you need. Order 80 sausage rolls from a recipe written for 12, and every ingredient adjusts automatically, rounded up to whole batches if you prefer.
  • Build components like pastry, custard or sauce once, then drop them into any recipe by weight. The cost nests correctly, allergens carry through, and the production plan pools component quantities across every recipe that uses them.
  • Suggested minimum prices from your true cost
Pricing

Price retail, wholesale and catering

  • Three or more named pricing tiers
  • Tier formulas: fixed price, cost plus fixed amount, or cost times multiplier
  • Override any tier on a single recipe when the formula does not fit
  • Pricing grid: every recipe across every tier on one screen
  • Customers get a default tier so orders price automatically
Allergen labels

Allergen labels (UK and US)

  • UK 14 allergens or US 9 (FALCPA), region selectable
  • Labels built from the full ingredient tree, including nested components
  • Ingredient statement in descending weight order, allergens emphasised
  • Composite bought-in ingredients expand via a Contains field
  • Copy the finished label text; add manual allergens when needed
Orders

Orders that feed the plan

  • Orders with customer, date required, recipe lines, qty and tier
  • Unit price locks when you take the order so later price changes do not rewrite history
  • Statuses you can customise (Received, Prepped, Cooking, Ready, Delivered, and your own)
  • Standing notes per order
  • Bulk import orders from CSV (column guessing and fuzzy recipe match)

Templates

Markets and standing orders

  • Save a market stall or event as a template (e.g. Saturday farmers market: 20 sourdough, 15 sausage rolls, 10 brownies)
  • Apply a template to a date: creates the order and drops it into the plan
  • Customer-linked templates for regular wholesale runs

Shopping list

Shopping list that stays honest

  • Built from the current production plan
  • Ingredients batched, scaled and rounded to whole packs
  • Group by supplier
  • Low-stock top-up mode with a configurable batch threshold
  • Estimated shop total
  • Export CSV, PDF or email
  • Confirm what you bought: after the shop, confirm packs bought, the price you paid, and pack size if it differs. Stock updates; changed prices update the ingredient so every recipe cost stays current. Prices stay current because you confirm them when you shop, not when you remember to.
