Loading the sample data
This article helps you try MakrPrep with realistic data before adding your own.
Steps
- A brand new account offers the sample data when you first sign in. Choose "Load sample data", or "Start empty" to add your own data.
To load it later, open Settings, Account, Sample data and click "Load sample data". "Show welcome guide and checklist" brings back the welcome message and the Getting started list, even if you closed them or have done every step.

What to expect
The sample is a small food business: bakes and pastries, plus bottled hot sauce, jarred chutney and jams, and packed jerky, with the jars, bottles and labels costed in. It adds ingredients, recipes, components, customers, suppliers, repeat orders and two weeks of orders, so every screen has something to show. It also includes 6 Cornish-style pasties in made stock, left over from last Saturday's market, so you can see how spare stock is used against later orders.
Common issues
- Want to clear the sample and start again: use Settings, Account, Reset account data. Your settings, price lists and login are kept.
