Why do I see a "+N newly ordered" badge?
This article explains the "+N newly ordered" badge that can appear next to a recipe name on the Recipes in Production screen.
Before you start
None.
Steps
- The badge appears on Recipes in Production, not the Production Plan — next to the recipe name, alongside its category tag.
- It shows when a recipe already has a production line for a given date and customer that's been moved past "Not Started" (e.g. cooked, packed, or otherwise closed off), and a fresh order comes in for that same date, recipe, and customer.
- That fresh amount is added as its own new line rather than folded into the line you've already started, so nothing you've already committed to gets silently changed. The badge totals up everything on the card that arrived this way, e.g. "+8 newly ordered".
What to expect
Seeing "+N newly ordered" isn't an error — it's MakrPrep telling you a customer's order grew after you'd already started that batch, so there's now a second, separate line to account for.
Common issues
- Expected the new amount to just increase my existing line — by design it doesn't, so your in-progress or finished quantity isn't retroactively changed by a late order. Check the breakdown table for the extra line and decide separately whether to fold it into your next batch.
