Using Recipes in Production
This article helps you track prep progress for what's currently on your Plan.
Before you start
Have active rows on your Production Plan.
Steps
Open Recipes in Production (under Plan), a left index of every recipe and component active in your current Plan date range, each showing its scaled quantity (e.g. "Rosemary Focaccia (6)", "Focaccia Dough (675 g)").
Recipes in Production's index, grouped by category with a Component group, showing scaled quantities - Pick one to see its detail: a "Making N across N date(s) · batch of X × scale · cost £Y" summary, a Status dropdown, and a "Hide breakdown" toggle. If a customer's order for a date/recipe grows after you've already closed off a line for it, a green "+N newly ordered" badge appears next to the recipe name. It's telling you fresh demand arrived separately from what you'd already committed to, so check the breakdown below for the extra line.
- Contributing production rows lists every date/customer row feeding this total, each with its own checkbox, Making quantity, and status.
- An "Override this quantity (view only)" checkbox shows whether a manual override is active. Make the actual change on the Production Plan table.
Ingredient and method-step lines each have their own tick for tracking prep progress.

What to expect
Changes here, unchecking a contributing row or ticking off ingredients and method steps, stay in sync with the Production Plan. It's the same underlying data, not a separate checklist.
Common issues
- Not sure whether ticking an ingredient here affects stock: Needs verification: stock deduction happens via "Mark finished items complete" on the Production Plan; whether these ticks do anything beyond visual prep tracking isn't confirmed.
- Saw a "+N newly ordered" badge and wasn't sure what it meant: see "Why do I see a '+N newly ordered' badge?" in Troubleshooting.
