Adding your first customer
This article helps you add a customer so you're ready to place your first order.
Before you start
Set up at least one pricing tier first (see "Setting up pricing tiers and pricing your recipe"), you'll assign one to each customer.
Steps
- Open Customers (under Workspace) and click Add.
In the Add customer dialog, fill in the name and, optionally, a default pricing tier and notes.

Add customer dialog showing Name, Default pricing tier, and Notes fields - Once the customer is added, it appears as a row in the Customers table, fill in email and phone there if you have them.
- The default tier feeds the price on any order you create for this customer, you can still override it per order line if needed.
- Already have your customers listed somewhere else, a spreadsheet, another system's export? Use Bulk Upload (under Workspace) instead of adding them one by one, Customers accepts a CSV file, and any customer named in an order or recipe import that doesn't already exist gets created automatically too.
What to expect
Orders with no customer attached show up as "Walk-in Customer", you don't need to create a customer record just to log a casual, one-off sale.
Common issues
- Not sure which tier to assign, if you're unsure, pick your most common arrangement (e.g. Retail), it's editable any time and only affects new orders going forward, not ones already placed.
